Reviews of Tinning Street, Brunswick

"Awesome pocket of Brunswick"

We have lived here for about a year now and love it. The area is so diverse with a great range of options for eating and drinking and socialising. There really are a number of great restaurants, cafes (including the A1 Bakery) and bars a short stroll away.

There are also a range of transport options available pretty much at your doorstep. We live about 3 a minute walk away from Anstey train station and another minute from the No19 tram which runs along Sydney Rd. There is also the option of the No55 tram, as well as buses along Albion St. This provides great inner city living transport options! Although Sydney Rd can be a bit of a hassle at times in terms of driving, Citylink really isn’t that far away as well as access to the Eastern Fwy.

Families tend to enjoy having close access to the child care centre not only on Tinning St but its affiliate centre close by on Mitchell St. This provides a great situation in terms of parents dropping of kids on their way to work.

For families, the tree lined street is also pretty quiet its blocked at the Sydney Rd end which reduces the amount of traffic that runs along.

Given you are only 6kms from the CBD with a range of public transport, dining and family orientated options at your doorstep, this is a great street in a great part of Melbourne to be living in.

Great for

  • 3 trams and a train, great school/dance school
  • Victorian houses that are well kept
  • Wide and tree lined, tidy and friendly

"Child care on the street, 3 trams and a train to choose from, 5kms from city - wide and leafy!"

Well, we hit the jackpot when we found this street. It is wide, a dead end at Sydney Rd so it doesn't get through traffic, Brunswick North Primary School is uniformed and excellent, with Dance School and Montessori in the grounds (400 m away).
The best bit is the number 1 tram (Moreland Rd); 19 tram (Sydney Rd); 55 tram (Melville Rd) and Anstey Station all within a short walk away.
The wide street has ample street parking and street is predominantly filled with Victorians - most of which are renovated. Tree lined and friendly, with 400m2 blocks.
As per usual in the inner city, the blocks of flats spoil a few bits, but they are all small. We hope the land values will increase to the point where a developer will buy the lot and bowl them over!
Great little street especially between La Rose and Patterson St.
Get something here if you can!

"Near good eats and arts"

Just off fantastic Sydney road, so close to a lot of great cheap eateries, decent bars and good pubs. Brunswick is really an arts type precinct in many ways, with live music venues, pubs with comedy acts and galleries scattered throughout the area.

"A Charming Street in Brunswick"

Having met many of the home owners on Tinning street I can tell you that the neighbours are pretty friendly. It is one of those streets with a good leafy feel. There are a number of old Victorian single/double fronted homes which give this wide street a grand and leafy appeal. As a Real Estate professional in Brunswick I would not hesitate to buy or live in Tinning street.

If you are looking for any information on homes/ price estimates in this street please dont hesitate to shoot me an e-mail at [email protected] or call me on 0423 931 298.

"Got it all!"

Tinning Street is an awesome street - it's really wide, with plenty of parking (which is a big plus in this area). It runs parallel to Albion Street, which attracts most of the traffic, so it's very quiet.

My house is only about 700m from the Anstey train station - which is really handy - only about 10 minutes on the train to the city.

Obviously, Sydney Road is a short walk away too - restaurants, shops, nightlife etc.

From my perspective, I haven't had any problems with noise, traffic or neighbours - it's a peaceful street that is still close to all the action.

Most of the places on the street have been renovated - but there are still a few that are currently being re-done.

Overall, I love the street, especially the location and the fact that it's a wide street that doesn't feel like you're living on top of everyone else - which is a great quality being so close to the city.

Absolutely - we're on Tinning St too but a little further from Sydney Rd. I love how it is closed off to Sydney Rd but you can still get over the train line on foot. Most of the houses are newly renovated and the street is wide with Albion and Moreland taking all the traffic.
Neighbours are very friendly and it is quiet - with the exception of the little bit of noise from people coming and going from units. Great place to live - much better than Mitchell St where we were previously!!
