Reviews of Tuncurry, NSW

"Blissful Tuncurry"

Tuncurry is the sister town of Forster, Only divided by a bridge although it has equal amounts to offer. With a stunning breakwall and netted rock pool for swimmers, awesome surfing breaks, a fishermans paradise, an award winning golf course, a modern high school and Tafe combined, Home of the Winning Tuncurry Hawks RLFC, top notch cafes and pubs. An all round coastal Aussie town. A must on the bucket list or for relocation.

"Tuncurry Rock Pool is Delightful"

Tuncurry is the twin town to Forster NSW. It has the perfect hidden sanctuary called the Rock Pool. A great little cafe, good parking, lovely grassed picnic areas plus family friendly swimming area.
Tuncurry also has a great selection of retail shopping plus a cafe & restaurant culture.

"Laid back coastal town"

Great relaxed coastal town, hard to find work but a growing area which now has some major supermarkets moving in across the bridge at Forster. I have brought properties here as a future investment. Still a fairly undeveloped area and one of the most overlooked coastal town on the NSW coast.

"A dying town like its neighbour Forster."

A good 4.5 hours drive north of Sydney where property prices have plunged whilst the mostly pensioner population gets larger and older. One big aged care facilty for the extremely poor. It has nothing. The council even had to pay for a supermarket as no retailer would put the money up to build one.

Great for

  • A beach but in saying that there are better beaches all over nsw including sydney itself

"Nice Quiet small town"

Tuncurry is quiet small town opposite Forster, a lot of retirees. Beautiful lakes beaches & friendly main street. A bit busy in the Christmas holidays but mainly only for 2 weeks. Love living here, not much of a night life for young people, just a pub and bowling club. But it is a beautiful place and everything you need is here.

"Local feel on the Central Coast"

Tuncurry is across the bridge from its more popular neighbour Forster. It has it’s own stretch of fishing shops and supermarket and is less crowded along the banks of the river if you are looking for a quiet fishing spot. The fishermen moor their boats on the Tuncurry side, with the fish coop also open to the public. There is a beach at Tuncurry and is far less crowded than Forster is. Tuncurry also sports a swimming pool if you prefer chlorine over the salt water. Everything on the Tuncurry side just seems more local and the prices of food reflect it.
