Reviews of Turrella, NSW

"Great little community, close to town and well serviced by public transport"

Turrella is a great spot. Best neighbours I've ever had in our street. Close to the city and lots of public transport options, but with a quiet and laid-back feel. Great access to the park lands and bush walks of Bardwell Valley/Turrella Reserve. Whilst the suburb itself is quiet the hustle and bustle of Wolli Creek/Marrickville/Earlwood and Arncliffe all very close. Nice mixture of old and new properties and overall a diverse, accepting and friendly place to live.

Looking for a home in Turrella?

"Tiny and Terrific! Turrella"

A true hidden gem, Turrella has the all important "c"s for families: it's child-friendly, convenient, and has a genuinely caring community. At just 10 kms from the City, Turrella is serviced by two train lines - as well as Turrella Station, you're just a short stroll to Arncliffe/Banksia and the airport line. Turrella is near the airport, but the runway alignment means it basically escapes the noise. If you're a shopper, try the new retail centre at Wolli Creek. The kids are well catered for: there's a range of good schools in the area, and the homes have enough yard space for games. If you need an outing, take the kids for a picnic by the Cooks River, or stroll down to Arncliffe Park and explore the new swings.
Take your time: this is the kind of place where the neighbours smile, stop and chat. Turella's a great place to be.

"Convenient, affordable suburb - close to the city"

I stumbled across this suburb when looking for property in both Marrickville and Tempe.
There are lots of low-priced federation and 30's properties (along with a mix of other houses).
The true benefit of this suburb is its location - it takes 5-10mins to drive to Newtown and around 12 mins to drive to the city being so close to the M5/eastern distributor.
It also has two train stations with two lines at walking distance - Turrella and Wolli Creek stations. Very quick commute (approx 12-15mins) into the centre of the city.
This area is quiet with really affordable houses on decent size blocks - its is impossible to find similar this close to the city. Travel less that 5 minutes away to Tempe, Marrickville or Earlwood and you pay 200K or more for the same property. Unlike Tempe and Marrickville, Turrella does not get the aircraft noise.
What this suburb lacks is some good shops, cafes etc - hopefully with the continuing developements at Wolli Creek this will come in the next few years (or possibly less).
This suburb (along with Arncliffe and Wolli Creek) is totally under-rated compared to the nearby suburbs of the inner west which generate lots of hype and expensive prices.
I have not looked back since moving to this area. It is definitely not trendy but is eminently liveable and hugely convenient.
