Been here for 12 months. Moved from the inner city. This is BY FAR the noisiest place we have ever lived. 24/7 barking dogs all around us. At least 4-5 problem dogs that constantly bark (it is a dog friendly suburb big time). Chainsaws, leaf blowers, mulching machines, hammering, grinding - you name it, it's here in Warrandyte. Every. Single. Day. A new housing estate would be quieter than this dump.

We expected it to be "country living" and quiet compared to the city but it's the absolute pits. You need to love dogs too - everyone has one and the crap left on the walking tracks is one "feature" of this place I'd rather not see.

The only feature is Pound Bend reserve. We go there most weekends. Quiet and no dogs allowed.

The IGA is a rip off as are most of the restaurants.

So if you are thinking of moving here, I would strongly recommend a place far far away from other houses so you can realistically achieve "quiet" country life. Otherwise be prepared for disappointment.
