Carlisle St

"The new Acland Street"

I was amazed over the past few years when I visited Melbourne and saw that Carlisle Street had turned into an fantascic entertainment location.

I remember Carlsile Street as the place to get bagles and to avoid at all costs when driving. Graham Keneddy summed it up for me with the joke "You know they used to ring a beel through the streets of Balaclava at 9pm to tell people to lock up their doors...they had to stop because they were waking everyone up." Boom, boom!

Well things have changed and I am very much looking forward to living within walking distance of this wonderful strip!

Nice review... I used to live in Balaclava many moons ago and all I can remember of Carlisle st was the 7/11 was on the corner. :)

Make sure you get some happy snaps of the new "trendy" Carlisle St for us!

Glenmark Avenue

"A beautiful, quite street just minutes from all the action"

I grew up in St Kilda, living there up to my late teens (1974 - 1986), I moved back there as a young adult (1994 - 1997) and I'm about to move back with my family - wife and 2 kids.

As for Glenmark Ave, well, we haven't moved in as yet so more details coming. What we have seen so far is an amazing place that we are looking forward to calling home.

A beautiful, little street, quite, green with every house a gem. But walk for a few min and you’re in the heart of St Kilda. Carlisle Street, Acland Street, Fitzroy Street and of course St Kilda beach.

The few people we have met so far are very friendly and a nice mix. There is even a resident 'crazy neighbor' to add some flavor.
