"great place for any person, couple or family wanting to get out of the city"

Jandowae's climate is warm in summer, mild in winter, with some frosts and icy mornings in winter between june and august. Rains most of the year round, its lovely and green and the soil is rich with nutrients and great for gardening! Outdoor living is favoured in jandowae, as it has ideal temperatures most of the year around. it is a flat area, no hills, so excellent for bike riders, disabled with wheelchairs or scooters and has minor traffic, the busiest time of day is from 8am - 10am, and 2pm - 4pm. town population is about 1000 people.

Jimbour street features: football oval, Jandowae prep - yr 10 state school, Childrens Park and public amenities. It has a neighbourhood of a variety of people, mainly young families who like to live within easy walking distance to the state school and sporting field and park. Jimbour street is the next street over from George Street, which is home to The Bakery, Thrifty link hardware and Jandowae 5 star handimart ( Arthur does home delivery in town around 1pm daily), Club hotel and police station, ambulance station, post office - which also acts as a branch of the commonwealth bank.
Jandowae's main business centre is of George st, and High street. High street is the main road through jandowae, on which you will find Luck Ford, jandowae fire station, tyrepower, ANZ bank, Hairdressers and beauty therapist, thrifty link (cnr george and high st) library and community centre (opposite thrifty link), preston's take away, exchange hotel, butcher, newsagent and stationary supplier, op shops, Elders real estate and rural supplies, Bottom Pub, Caltex 24 HR service station. Jandowae medical centre and hospitals are in Dalby St, with live in town Doctor. Taralga looks after older people with meals in home care and retirement home care, drivers for the disabled are available as well.
Jandowae also has many sporting facilities, such as tennis courts, squash courts, golf course, public swimming pool with solar heating, Taralga retirement village, Lions club, APEX, caravan park, rifle range, waterski club and the Jandowae Dam is great for BBQ area and boating, fishing and waterskiing on throughout the year.
Town rates are about $700 per year, water rates charged seperatley. Town garbage collection is on Fridays.
Jandowae state school is home to the STEPHANIE ALEXANDER school kitchen project, and the students are known for their sporting abilities and excellence in education. There is school buses that take students to Dalby christian and state primary schools and high schools, which is only a half an hour drive away. Family day care and jandowae kindergarten for younger children.
Jandowae is a great place to live, if you want the quiet friendly nature of country towns, but with the vast amenities of bigger towns close by. Dalby is 48km from Jandowae ( 30 mins), and Chinchilla is 62 km from Jandowae (40 mins). you will always make a friend, and there is heaps to do if you get involved in the community. Once you establish yourself in Jandowae, you will love to call it home...Give it a try, no matter how old or young you are!
