This person has probably had an unusually bad experience of Zillmere. My guess is they were living on the eastern side of the train station, towards the Taigum area.

Also, as a young female I have used the station for commuting to work and have never felt unsafe (or seen any blood!).

I do not agree. I live on the Taigum side of the railway station and although there is a larger degree of housing commission than surrounding suburbs, I love the area. It is convenient, I have never felt unsafe, and I have nice neighbours and families.

The area does have some crime and each street should be looked upon on a case by case basis, as some streets are less neighbourly with a higher proportion of unkept houses and renters than others.

Overall, my experience is that Zillmere it is an affordable, convenient and friendly place to live on whole with the prospects of growth, improvement in community and housing and a general shift in the demographic underway.

There were many calls for Police attendance. Several graffiti attacks. Abusive drunken behaviour in the street. I just never felt safe and relaxed there.

I have lived here since 2004. I dont think the area is any worse than surrounding suburbs really.
I have never had a bad experience at all in the whole time I have lived here. I live on the Aspley side and apart from a busy street I have no complaints. Lots of walkers and joggers are in my immediate area. Dont see them doing that if they would get bashed or abused. Bit of a silly comment really to make. Lots of families around and I have families opposite me and on either side of me. Have had one drunk lady ONCE and she was from a party over the road. She picked one of my flowers from my garden. Hardly worth putting my house on the market for. All up, I love my house and my area.

Some pretty nasty real estate agents in Aspley and Zillmere according to some astute owner's I know...All I can say is check the wording before you sign anything....hey Mr Thornton...other than that, the suburb is what you make of it, oh and I wouldn't shop at the bakery or the Zillmere Post Office next door....big mistake

I'm planning to get a place over in Meher Street. Any thoughts. It's a new development. An apartment.

yep, Battersby road is full of scummy people. all these filthy people need to be moved out of the suburb.
