Colonel Light Gardens

"Colonel Light Gardens, South Australia"

This is a Heritage listed suburb with a plethora of Heritage 1920s bungalows. Council is strict about maintaining the integrity of the suburb so the suburb has a lovely feel. Very little jarring inappropriate development. The blocks are big. The homes are charming. the footpaths are wide, treelined and attractively maintained.

Great for

  • Nice Theatre at the nearby Mitcham shopping centre. Not far from Unley shopping centre. Close to the city, yet once you are in Colonel Light Gardens you would never know the city is only 20 minutes away
  • The whole suburb is charming and very family orientated
  • Character Buildings
  • Location
  • Lots of room to walk the dog.
  • Leafy

Not great for

  • If you want a super modern flat roofed home this is not for you
  • If you want to live in a highrise this is not for you
  • If you don't respect heritage this is not for you

Heathpool

"Heathpool, Leabrook and Hazelwood Park in South Australia"

All three are nearby and are gorgeous suburbs. A mass of heritage properties, often sensituvely renovated. Lots of leafy streets. Close to Norwood shopping precinct and Burnside shopping centre. Close to the lovely Hazelwood park and the huge pool there. Close to pretty Waterfall gully. And close to Tusmore Park, which is great for children. Google Earth it and you will see this is true. Close to really good schools. Homes are pricey but the value has held and values have progressively increased over the years. And the gardens are good as the soil is better east of Portrush Road. Plus you are about 15 minutes from the city. Worth considering if you are cashed up.

Great for

  • Good facilities for families and professional - anyone who likes Quality
  • Lovely kindergartens and great schools, great shopping options
  • Wonderful parks and open spaces

Not great for

  • Expensive to buy into the suburb
