Minto/Minto Heights is very affordable but it comes at a price. If you are new to the area please do your research, don't base your decision on the ratings you see in this site as it is easy to rate up your own town - and that's how the other comments for minto looks like. There are some good areas in minto, but beware of areas close to the large housing commission. Theft, robbery, assault, sexual offence is common, but it has reduced over the years. Some of the housing commission has also been removed, but not much has changed. As the property prices are cheap, a huge majority of the residents are labourers, and not the best neighbours. Minto has green parks, but I won't recommend them for children because of the crime rate in minto. There is no point of a "country feeling" if it is not safe. Public transport is poor, so take into account that it is a very long drive to the city. The quality of schools in the area is very poor, so it is not the best choice if you care about your kids education. Overall, it is a below average suburb. The peaceful suburb of Yagoona suburb has many attractions to offer for all members of the family. For the kids there are safe, spacious and beautiful parks. The neighborhood is friendly, has a harmonious mixture of different cultural ethnicity. There are shopping malls, schools and shops for all the necessities of modern life. The suburb has a homely feel as most streets are residential areas. The suburb has been planned and developed nicely by the council, and it is actively maintained. We have festivals and picnics in our parks at different times throughout the year - and all the major attractions are within short driving distance. Thus the suburb offer the right balance between affordability and amenities.

Don't be fooled any negative reviews, you've to visit this wonderful suburb to see it's true potential. Whether you are looking to own or invest, Yagoona is a great choice as a suburb.
