Belgrave

"Good place if you don't have to travel to city all the time or like the train"

It is a lovely area - trees, fresh air , lovely houses and lots of public schools to choose from. If you dislike travelling up to 75mins to the city everyday on the train for work, I would not recommend it. Otherwise go for it.

It is not 75 minutes, it's 40 minutes and 35km.

It is 40 minutes if you drive into the city when it is not peak hour. If you leave Belgrave after 7.10am on a weekday it takes at least 1 hour to get to the city. If you look at the train time table it takes 60 minutes from Belgrave to Southern Cross Station. This is all from my last 5 years of getting to work in the CBD. I only work 3 days and I do not mind but if I worked 5 days and tried to look after my toddler as well, it would be difficult.
