Nollamara

"We love Nollaz!"

We have lived in Nollamara for 4 years now and love it! It has a great community feel which I especially have noticed after having a baby. I can walk to 3 shopping centres from my house (Mirrabooka Square, Hillsborough & Northlands) and less than 10 kms from the city, Mt Lawley & Leederville. We have a great 3x2 built in 2006 that we can acutually afford to pay off with a single wage! Sure we dont have a huge back yard or a cinema room, but we have a beautifully maintained park just a minute down the street (Des Penman) and really nice neighbours (one brings in our bin, the other mows our front lawn- we repay them with lemons from our tree!). We have made friends with many other young families in the area just from meeting at the library, park & shops. I do a lot of walking around our suburb with bub in the pram and sure there are a few "interesting" looking houses and people but we have never had any issues from them. A great affordable suburb which I would highly reccomend. The only downside I see is that the old houses are being demolished so quicky and 3+ villas going up on the 1 block- traffic is going to be an increasing issue especially in peak hour.

Nollamara has really cleaned up it's game nowadays.Back in 1985/86 it was a different story for sure when I attended Mirrabooka High School.Low density private dwellings is what was needed-get rid of most of the old skool shitty Homeswest eyesores.

I love Nollaz too - lived here 11 years now as a young professional couple and now a couple with two kids. We have a huge block with awesome neighbours. It takes me 10 mins to get into the city and 15 mins to get to the beach. The demographic if the area has changed deprastically over the last 10 years and it really is a hidden gem of a suburb.

Ps - heaps better and closer to the city and beach than Dianella - which is supposedly a 'better' suburb. Just stick to the Yokine boarder (Morley Dve side) and you are fine. I think the Mirrabooka side can be a bit rough. Basically don't cross Nollamara Ave is my usual advice to anyone wanting to move here
