Have lived here for 12 years. Fantastic and supportive neighbours, gorgeous surroundings of small cottages, roses in spring and former sea captain mansions. Close walking distance to great restaurants, breakfast cafes and Salamanca shopping. St David's Park is a delight and has large children's playground, other small playgrounds too. Parking permits available for locals but Saturday morning is Salamanca market so hard to park then. Doctor's surgery nearby, also physio, dentist, several gyms, hairdresser, One of best bakeries in Australia - Jackman's and McRoss, antiques and books all in Battery Point. Lady Gowrie childcare on corner of McGregor St. Lots of pedestrians so safe. Rates ok as petrol use is reduced. Albuera Street State School nearby. Bus goes through Battery Point but walking distance to city. Can think of no other area in Australia with so much going for it. Fantastic place to live!
