The Gully Road

"Over Rated"

Gets dark early in the afternoon due to the ridge. Homes on the western side are possibly overcapitalised.
Eastern side is good. Still the early settlers built on the plateau not in gully for a reason.

Great for

  • New and nicer looking homes
  • Expensive homes
  • Great Xmas lights

Not great for

  • Dark early in the afternoon
  • Nice looking homes but I'm not sure they held value
  • Big hill to walk/ride up-kids will need lifts in the car

Berowra

"Affordable North Shore location"

People are generally surprised when they find out that Berowra is quite affordable but also well located.
Consider this. You are 10 mins from Wahrooga but not on the main freeway. The population cant expand due to the bush. Having worked in Ryde,Crows Nest and the western suburbs and being a professional I would often leave Ryde at 6pm and arrive home in 20-25mins. My Children went to public schools and completed degrees at major city Unis. If you wanted private schools you have multiple choices and berowra is on the train line. You can buy very cheap homes and do them up. Dont buy in Berowra if you are a snob because the economic status of us varies from low income to wealthy. We tend to like this. There is a bike track to Hornsby and regular cyclists love the Berowara-Brooklyn-Berowra ride. They are planning a new pool for Hornsby and we have plenty of sporting fields and a skate park that is placed in a visible location. I could choose to live in Turramurra,Wahroonga or Normanhurst but I prefer to live here. Shopping at Hornsby is also close. It's a genuine community in Berowra.

Great for

  • Affordable North Shore location
  • Community spirit
  • Not yet discovered

Not great for

  • High Schools dont exist
  • Hornsby for Gym and Pool
  • Bush fires on the fringes
