Bridgeman Dr

"Loved the area."

We built our home through Celebration Homes on a block of land in Bennet Springs Estate. We loved it but sold it to move to Blackmans Bay, Tasmania. The area can be a little noisey with peak hour trafic but other than that, it is a nice place to live. People are friendly and they are building a new shopping center aff Beechboro Road. We would consider buying back into the area in a couple of years.

Pitt Court

"Wouldn't live here if we had a choice."

We have lived here for 2 years and most of the street is owner occupied. I think we are 1 of 2 rental properties in the court. We only stay here because the rent is cheaper than most places we have seen. Unfortunately, every 2nd house in the street is without ADSL broadband - none will be connected soon. Beechboro Road is only 2 houses away making it very difficult to put our boy to sleep in the evenings. Lots of loud cars, trucks and motorbikes and plenty of burnouts. I wouldn't really recommend this treet because of it's location to the main intersection.

Hillside Drive

"Great place to live with awesome views. Everything you could need."

Blackmans Bay is a beachside suburb located south of Hobart, Tasmania and was named after a James Blackman who occupied land there in the 1820s. The town is located adjacent to Kingston, and is approximately fourteen kilometres south of Hobart, to which it is connected by the Southern Outlet motorway.

Blackmans Bay has three primary schools from kindergarten to grade six: Blackmans Bay, Illawarra, established in the late 1980s, and the Catholic St. Aloysius. There is also a beach and shopping centre within walking distance of most homes. The shopping centre includes a supermarket, newsagency, doctor's surgery, pharmacy, butcher and a variety of other stores.

There is a blowhole near the northern end of the beach, but in reality it's more like a large arch where waves can be seen coming in and crashing on the rocks. There are numerous cliffs and viewpoints along Blowhole Road. On the southern side of the beach, there is a track that leads to flowerpot point. This is a popular spot for fishing, although snags are an issue because of the prevalence of seaweed and rock ledges beneath the water.

Our property is located on Hillside Drive, a quiet street that overlooks the bay. There is also a sensational dog beach on the far side of Brown river.
