St Lucia

"St Lucia - a Two-Level Suburb"

St. Lucia is quite unique, it's almost as if it's two suburbs in one.

To the southern (higher) side, there's Ironside State School, some churches, parks, small shopping areas and lots of ~$1 million houses. On the northern (lower/flooded) side, there are some shops, and a lot of the area is made up of apartments and small houses rented by University students, along with a few more expensive riverfront properties.

Unless you live on Sir Fred Schonell Drive, even St Lucia's 'main' roads are not that busy at all. While the shops are 'non-existent', the frequently running 402/411/412/427/428/432 service the suburb very well, meaning you can be at major shopping centres within 5 minutes. These buses also connect you with rail services. City is within 10-15 minutes drive as well.

It's very much a 'luck of the draw' with neighbours, you may find very friendly neighbours or the dreaded Uni students into hard rock music. Parking is a pain, with restrictions everywhere - although these disappear getting further from the University.
