Parkinson

"Generally a good place to live, with some quirks."

In the olden days (just kidding), but it's kind of true, Parkinson used to be a thriving and lush bushland until a good majority of the bush was bulldozed and the topping soil scrapped up and pushed into a large pile down near the train line (for those who live there will know what their soil conditions are like). I wouldn't recommend this suburb to gardeners unless you're up for a challenge and hard work - allot have fort hard and given up, I'm a fighter so I'm pressing on. If getting away for the weekend is your thing, you'll appreciate having 3 great motorways on your doorstep. Depending on which side of the "hill" you're looking at, ever since the additon of the Browns Plains/Larapinta/Heathwood industrial estates heavy vehicle noise (engine braking) is growing more apparent, and depending on which way the breeze blows you'll also hear the beeping of reversing trucks and forklifts. The buses are frequent, but will take you longer than 40 mins to the CBD (maybe less once the Kessells Rd underpass is finished), and driving there in 25mins is a stretch off peak (take the motorway if you don't mind one toll, avoid Mains Rd). Some areas of Parkinson do feature on the councils flood mapping, so please do your homework - however we're more prone to hail and wind squalls (mini tornado back in the day - sorry reminiscing again). As we're closer to Logan/Ipswich we're more prone to thier weather patterns. We're generally young families, with at least 2 cars (or more), suggesting many work/play locally - boats and caravans are also common (getting towed around, not roaming the streets, haha). There you go, review brought to you by a non-realestate agent. Looking forward to seeing you around.
