Darling St

"Central and quiet"

Darling Street is a small street running between Anzac Parade and Doncaster Avenue. One side of the street has unit development and the other has a row of small adjoined cottages built around 1910. The cottages have a heritage order so the streetscape will remain beautiful.

Being very close to the University of NSW brings us great transport links - we can be at the beach, the city or Bondi Junction shopping centre all within a couple of minutes. We aslo have great cross city liks like to Leichhardt and Alexandria. The nearest train station is Green Park. Entry and exit to the Eastern distributor is also a few minutes drive away.

We have restaurants very close by, the Chinese and other Asian restaurants are of good quality and very popular but all other types are pretty poor (good thing East Sydney and Darlinghurst are a couple of minutes away). The Doncaster Hotel is also very close but we have not experienced any noise or disturbance from the pub - plus they have a great bistro which also welcomes kids.

Randwick racecourse is in short walking distance and stables are dotted throughout Kensington - in the morning you can smell the horses and the hay. Centennial Park, Moore Park and other parks are all in walking distance which is great for all of us including the kids. Centennial park has heaps of 'off-leash' areas for dogs so we spend a bit of time down there with our dog.

Our neighbours are great - in the houses they are mostly owner occupied so people are home all through the day. There is a mixture of older people who have lived here for over 20 years and a number of younger families.

At certain times of the day parking can be a bit of a struggle - but this means that you may be parked around the corner rather than in front of your house, so while it is an inconvenince it is not impossible.

We love our Street - we are close to everything! We use the parks and other local facilities with our kids and dog.
