Glenmore Park

"Between town and country"

Glenmore Park has everthing that a family with children could want. My wife and I have lived here for the last two years and couldn't be happier. The suburb itself has plenty of parks for children, walking areas, bike tracks and facilities. It is a friendly community, house prices are reasonable and resale value is superb. Best of all is its location. Glenmore Park is located very close to the M4, (although far enough away to avoid any noise), giving easy access to the Blue Mountains, Sydney, and the North and South Coast, (via the M7). Glenmore Park is also close to Penrith, allowing for easy access to plenty of shopping and restaurants. On the southern side of Glenmore Park are the semi rural communities of Mulgoa and Warragamba so the conveniences of town and the experiences of country life are within easy reach. ISchools are great here too with Private Schools in the league of Caroline Chisolm in Glenmore Park and the academic selective Penrith High School close by. The community is diverse but is loaded with professional families. There is no nightlife in Glenmore Park to speak of but it's location makes finding nightlife in other suburbs easy. The traffic is generally quite good although it can be difficult getting out of Glenmore Park on weekday mornings. Also, the constantly winding road that runs through the suburb can make one a little carsick. Medically, we have found the local health care centre on the Lakes Drive to be very good, and Nepean Hospital is a short drive away. Penrith Council has recently introduced a three bin system which may make environmental sense but which I think is a gigantic pain in the neck if you have children as we do. There are plenty of options nearby to keep fit with a number of gyms in South Penrith and programs that operate in Glenmore Park. Glenmore Park feels safe and has a great community spirit. People are proud to live here. The houses range from 3 beddas to gigantic homes but generally Glenmore Park backyards are on the small side. We have loved living here and we will never move.
