Lowan Avenue

"Real community"

Lowan is the word for Mallee Fowl and is part of Latchie Latchie country. Lowan Ave. was naturally Bulloke Woodland: Pine and Belah woods interspersed with Mallee. Some surrounding ridges maintain remnant stands of Murray Pine, and the odd belah tree stil stands. The majority of the timber was cleard and used for vineyard planting around the 1920's by returning WW1 soldiers who were pledged land for their service to country. Lowan Ave. now is otherwise very normal for the outskirts of RedCliffs. Lowan in particualr has fantastic red-loamy soils that could grow boiled lollies! We grow avocados, citris and a wide variety of fruit and vegies, that thrive. Great neighbours, very quite, minimal local traffic (the kids ride their bikes for K's on the local raods), loads of space and awesome views. Good remnant Mallee woddland a walk away. RedCliffs, as a part of the broader Sunraysia, is famous for its awesome weather. Although stinking hot (for the most part) in summer, autumn is just brilliant, as the Murray's water is still warm (~25C) while winter is even better (although water is cold) with still, sunny days. I love it here and always will!
