Yarraville

"Yarraville - the pick of the west!"

What a place to live, it has a vibrant cafe' culture with some truly great coffee, the iconic Sun Theatre, Yarraville gardens, public transport and a great village feel.

With Seddon, Spotswood, Newport and Footscray around the corner you are spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out - from cheap eats to quality dining. Williamstown beach isn't far away and there are plenty of bike paths too. We have lived here 5 years now and love it to bits.

Truck traffic/pollution is in essence limited to Francis Street and Whitehall Road, it would be great if they deliver on the proposed alternate truck route, but in my opinion the truck traffic does not detract from Yarraville's village lifestyle and positive community atmosphere.

A high school would be a bonus. You can visit http://www.skyhigh.org.au for more information about a lobby group petitioning for a new local high school.

I hope my comments on Yarraville and surrounds has been helpful.

That's great and ABOUT TIME, friends of mine were lobbying at least 14 years ago. Next they need to get rid of the portable classrooms that have been populating the local primary schools for almost as long. The tunnel will make a big difference also. But WHY is it your less 'gentrified' neighbours up the street, (with lower property values and less resources) who live on and near Millers Rd, Altona North are going to INHERIT your truck problem. Anyone care about that? Anyone willing to do anything about helping your neighbours.I don't understand why the tunnel isn't extending a bit further to avoid residential areas completely.
