Gosnells

"Nice down to earth place"

Gosnells, or Gozzy as the locals like to call it, is an older suburb/city although parts have been revitalised in the last few years. There are lots of inexpensive houses to buy there, many with large blocks. Some of these blocks are being subdivided and sold and there are a number of new estates popping up with more likely in the future. Gozzy often gets labelled as a 'bogan' city and there are elements of that - generally people are down to earth and good fun. There are nice open spaces and beautiful wetland areas.

Gosnells has a great history, with the name from John Gosnells perfume company (which still exist in UK today),
http://www.johngosnell.com and as a orange orchard area, which is now replaced by housing.

Today Gosnells has a council in a beautiful setting by the River, and a libary that feels like the reading room in a hotel. A lovely bowling green in the main street, surrounded by wonderfully tall ecaluptus trees, that are a buzz with blossoms in Jan-Feb. The council had summer concerts in the ampitheatre setting by the river as well as Carols by Candlelight, Australia day breakfasts etc. The quality of life for the retired in Amaroo Village complex second to none with a long waiting list.
Gosnells main street is a sleepy hollow, with the supermarket open all hours, and a wonderful new railway station,
