Secret Harbour

"FRIENDLY SUBURB"

The best thing about living in Secret Harbour are the great people, facilities and it's extremely well maintained. There are sport facilties from the golf course, surf life saving club, nearby Lark hill (1 minute drive) with top of the state sports playing fields for soccer, hockey, teeball and rugby all available. Walking and cycle paths are everywhere and they are very well used, it safe to be out and about, even the kids because they are always used. All our neighbours are friendly, and the parents we meet to the local school are very welcoming to new residents, and helpful. The local primary school is excellent. While other suburbs have started to look run down after a few years of becoming established, the council mantaince that we pay a little extra for in the rates keeps it looking great. We always see the local kids heading down the beach, dragging their surf boards behind, if you don't want you kids to be couch potatoes it really is a great place to live. You see them at the skate park, beach or parks, and mostly they are a pretty good lot. The bus connections makes it easy to get into Perth, they run all the time, and there are quite a few different routes in Secret Harbour, making it easy to get around. The new pub is not bad for a meal, although a little too pricey for my liking. Mandurah and Rockingham are nearby for great shopping and plenty of great eating places and entertainment, just far enough away if you ask me, Secret Harbour doesn't get the crowds.

Bancoura Parkway

"Our favourite place to live"

We live in the area known as the Break. We moved to the area about 3 years ago, and have found it to be excellent. The neighbours are all really friendly, and the public transport has improved the access to Perth since the train went through. Secret Harbour is extremely well maintained, the verges and parks are always having work done on them, which in neighbouring suburbs barely happens. The small amount of extra rates ensures the areas are always maintained. The best thing about the area is the facilities, with all the sports clubs, parks, and cycle paths, there is really no excuse not to be active and because they are so well utilised by the residents there is always plenty of people around so you feel safe walking or cycling around the many paths. The beach is a surf beach, with calmer beaches nearby you really couldn't ask for more. We have found the Secret Harbour Primary school to be excellent and have actually removed our child from the private school he attended nearby as I couldn't see the point in paying for schooling when such an excellent public school is available within walking distance.
