We moved into this area as it was the best area to buy a house for our budget. We were pleasantly surprised and thought that it was a good area for professionals and kids. Mostly, it still is, but since we bought our home here 2 years ago, the safety of the area has gone downhill. There seems to be an increase of crime in both our area, and also in surrounding areas such as Parkinson and Calamvale. There are two parks near our home that are pitch black at night, which is never a good thing. Some aspects of the area are improving, but public transport through residential areas is still lacking, and safety has definitely plummeted for us. We always hear hoons throughout the residential streets at night, doing burnouts and whatnot.
