Pyrmont

"Quiet, friendly village feeling ... but only minutes from the city"

We have lived in Pyrmont for over ten years now having moved here from the Shire after our kids left home. We would not want to live anywhere else in Sydney as Pyrmont offers virtually everything we wanted. For example:
• Walk to work, shops and entertainment in the city/Darling Harbour
• Excellent public transport – bus, light rail, ferry, monorail
• Numerous quality restaurants and cafes in Pyrmont itself
• Close to major hospitals and medical facilities
• Easy access to major sporting facilities
• Excellent views and walks around the harbour foreshore
• Good public parks and facilities for families
• Remarkably peaceful in spite being so close to a major city
Most importantly it has emerged from its shipping port origins into a friendly and vibrant inner city suburb but it still has a village feel about it as much of the heritage has been tastefully retained.

Great for

  • Tranquility
  • Ease of access to virtually everything
  • Lot of eating options
  • Near to city

Not great for

  • Property relatively expensive

Who lives here?

  • Professionals
  • Singles
  • Families with kids
  • Retirees
  • Trendy & Stylish

Sadly the village feel is gone. This review seems quite dated now. Monorail long gone, just for starters. Still great for proximity to town and light rail to Central, but sadly lost that sleepy feel that existed between construction phases.
