Noble Park

"Better than you expect"

I am a student who moved in order to study, and when I saw the cheap rental prices in Noble Park I couldn't resist; until everyone I talked to told me what a bad area it was. Having looked around though, it didn't seem too bad.

Lived here for a few months now and I love it; the train station is so close, as is coles, and by public transport it's 20 mins to chadstone or dandenong plaza, 45 minutes to the city and not too far to fountain gate either! Not much to do around here, but the train line makes it easy to go to events nearby. Some areas feel very unsafe however, and I do not reccommend hanging around the station at night, but I think that's true for every suburb. I love the multicultural vibe of the area, and you're likely to run into all sorts of cultures.

Must say though, for op-shoppers? The op-shops close very early, and the largest of them, Salvos, is closed by 2:30pm every day.

All in all; not the flashiest area, but a very cheap and convenient one.

Great for

  • Plenty of markets within short distance.
  • Surrounded by larger city services of Springvale,Dandenong & Keysborough.
  • Train Service, frequent as 2 lines go through.
  • Great facilities, aquatic centre, parks, sports ovals

Not great for

  • No central nightlife/pub other than an RSL.
  • Still a low income area, but many signs of change.
  • Tired,shabby town centre.

Who lives here?

  • Singles
  • Families with kids
  • Students
