- we had never lived in or around this suburb.
- having lived on the eastern strip we were used to cleanliness, greenery, easy access to city, schools, shopping centres - eastland,doncaster, chadstone,costco, eastern freeway,awesome train access and local eateries.
- we wanted to buy in the area but could not compete against other cashed up buyers so bought in this suburb.
- it feels like hitting a jackpot - this suburb has easy access to all the eastern goodies plus more.

- Friendly
- Great Schools
- Safe
- Easy access to amenities (shopping, transport and medical facilities)
- Green open spaces to explore (inc great playgrounds for kids!)
Not great for
- Train service - it needs duplication

Agree - Sydney Road is not close. Bunnings (at Northland SC) is less than 10 mins by car or 10 mins by bus. Seriously, John do you live in this area?
As I said elsewhere in this discussion, I live in Doncaster and have for most of the time since 1969. I have lived in a few other places in between. Re Sydney Rd, perhaps question the expert Sammy himself on that one? No point discussing it with me.
Yes well Box Hill station is less than 10 mins from my home in Doncaster by BUS and Collingwood is only 11 mins away off peak by car and I have a Smartbus 30 seconds away and another city direct bus 1 minute away and the main PT interchange at Westfield only 5 mins walk away. I am laughing. Not to mention the fantastic shopping so close to home. With an Apple Store!!
Bunnings is also coming nest to Westfield in the near future also. Who needs a train at their doorstep with vandalism and other crime it brings? No thanks!
Sammy also ought to check out the latest property sales figures for Doncaster. He may even be impressed.
