Glen Tower Drive

"Great street, lovely neighbours"

Glen tower is a lovely street, Beautiful gums line the street whose houses were architectually inspired by arthur boyd in the 1960's. When the estate was origionally planned, it was to have underground power and no fences between houses. However this "modern thinking" was all a little too much too soon, and the cost of the land with underground power was too expensive for back then. Hence, it developed just like any other street in the 1960's
These days, traffic can be heavy - and often you get a few speedsters, nothing than a speed hump or 2 wouldnt fix. The houses on the west side of the street (closer to gallaghers rd) are probably a little nicer than those nth west past the round-about. Houses vary with flat roofs alternating with pitched roofs, and many of the flat roofs have since been converted into pitched to avoid the constant leaks. Most residents take pride in their gardens and nature strips, and neighbours will soon get on your case if the lawn is hitting 1 ft high (fair enough too). Having said that, the neighbours are wonderful, and help each other out when needed. There are always annual streetparties with many neighbours attending.
There is a park on the street which is smoke free(no idea how that is enforced) and also shepherds bush down the other end. a post box is also convenient. 2 different busses also stop at either end of the street. There are thousands of possums, so look after your roses, they will be eaten. Also many many cockatoos, and lorikeets and magpies which do swoop near the post boxduring breeding season.
The only think to complain about is the councils lack of street sweeping.
