Forresters Beach

"Cant think of anywhere worse to live."

This suburb has nothing going for it. If you dont have a car you are stranded, if you need medical assistance you are in big trouble and if you have just bought a house...good luck ever selling it for what you paid for it.

I would not live here if I was paid to. I owned a house here for 5 years and it has been hell in the whole time. There are vandals and louts, rude and trouble making neighbours. If you call the police they take 1 hour to get out to you on a good day.

Stay away and you will be much better off.

Forresters beach is the best suburb on the central coast. Maybe Sydney CBD would suit you best? I recently sold my house in Forresters and made amazing profits. I bought another around the corner. I love this place. Never had any problems here. This place is suited to people who loves the beach, tranquility and a great community filled with artists, surfers and young families.

I agree with JasonT. If you made amazing profits you must have bought in 20 years ago because property values have not grown in forresters beach in recent years, in fact they have plummeted significantly. The council really needs to develop some infrastructure because this area desparately needs growth. Its stuck in a time warp, full off rejects and thos that cant afford to live elsewhere. I know several people that have been assualted and vandals are all over the place. The beach is only good if you are a surfer and even so most surfers dont want to surf there. It sure is filled with artists, surfers and young families...all unemployed and on drugs with nothing better to do than cause trouble.

Are you talking about the same Forresters Beach? I haven't seen any evidence of vandalism, the beach is popular with surfers (Banzai gets ridiculous on good days), though it doesn't work in all conditions, everyone I know around here works, and I haven't come across much evidence of people on drugs causing trouble. Are you talking about Forresters or a neighbouring suburb? Because I haven't seen any evidence of the types of problems you're talking about.

Please note the property value has dropped EVERYWHERE! not only in Forresters. You will find vandalism, unemployed people EVERYWHERE! Get my point here? Maybe your super negative attitude reflect on your bad experience in Forresters Beach? I have not experienced any trouble here and i have lived here all my life. I assume that you must have been hanging out or involved with these people to know so much about them?

I dont mean to offend residents of FB, there are nice people there but on the whole the suburb lacks infrastructure, the property prices have not grown since the mid 90s. As I said, I personally have experienced FB and would suggest that anyone looking to buy into the area to look elsewhere. Most streets dont even have footpaths. I dont think there is even flouridated water systems in place. I dont need to associate with bad people to know the area is full of bad people, its a common characteristic of the suburb. Its only natural for current residents to be defensive of my comments but people want to hear of a genuine opinion. Try calling the police and see how long it takes them to get to your door from Gosford police station? A few years ago a girl was stabbed at the bus stop, another girl faked a kidnapping only to get on the national news. Check the stats on the number of unemployed in the suburb and the crime rate available from the local police if you dont believe my review. The place is one to stay away from unless you are a passer by looking for a burger as you are starving on the way to the Entrance but even then I would recommend not stopping for a feed because you will pay Sydney prices for a burger and it wont even taste that good.

I'm not offended - I'm just a bit mystified because I haven't come across the things you talk about (I heard about the stabbing incident in 2005), and the crimes I hear about on the news and in the paper don't support the notion that this suburb is somehow a hotbed of violent crime. I know for a fact that this suburb does not have the highest crime rate on the Central Coast, and the unemployment rate is significantly higher in the suburb in which I work. According to the 2006 census, 4.8% of the population of this area were unemployed, which is lower than the average for the Central Coast. As far as I am aware, the water supplied across the Gosford LGA is fluoridated, including this suburb. I'm not sure where you're getting your 'stats' from, but I do wonder whether you're viewing them with bias. I know several police officers, and the suburbs they advised me to avoid when I was looking for a home did not include this one.

Forrieslover

so, jasont did you actually live in Forresters Beach? or on the highway....and honestly stevi182 you have to be kidding yourself to recommend The Entrance or Gosford....more "questionable" people int those locations than in Forries mate. Oh and Terrigal - sure it has lots to offer but it also has a high rate of "drunken behaviour" and vandalism.......

stevi82

Basically the central coast is ALL crap then if The Entrance and Gosford are querstionable and Terrigal is vandalism and drunks and Forries has all its problems.

Forreslover...hows your property value going? is it like the Coles ad? down down deeper and down
