Healesville

"Easily the best place to live... bar none!"

I have lived in this town for the majority of my life. It is - in one word - PERFECT! Great people, magnificent views and ideally located in a valley with mountains cradling our community. The people here always smile and say G'day as you walk down the street. The parks are clean with a friendly air where families hold picnics and there is ample room to spread out - even during Grape Grazing!
There are a variety of different housing types and areas, from small hobby farms (5+ acres) to townhouses and units, which is ideal for all different home owners. The only problem with Healesville is in the high demand for rental properties. It has been this way for many years, but more so in recent times.
On weekends, again particularly during events such as Grape Grazing, there can be a lot of traffic and it is best to book accomodation prior to coming to the area rather than risking their being a place to stay when you get here.
We hear often that the township itself is very comparable to small English villages and there is a lot of ex-U.K. residents that have recently relocated here.
I have visited many cities in Australia, being from Victoria it is common to want to move to Queensland, but I simply love this town so much that I can't ever see myself permanently leaving. It's just that perfect!

Healesville has changed/improved a great deal in the past 10 years. Once the bike link is in place from the Warburton Trail to Yarra Glen and then through Healesville to Yarra Junction, will Healesville see more young couples and families sell up in Melbourne and live a stress free lifestyle within the cleanest greenest valley in close proximity to any Australian City. From Albert Park, I have been here with family for 12 years and it is a great place to live and the next 12 will be better again... Cheers 'Juniper' Ears...
