Keysborough

"Great family suburb"

Moved into the new Somerfield Estate in Keysborough and what a great move it has been. We are a young family and there are plenty of parks and schools around. Neighbours are all very friendly and are either young couples starting out or families.

Keysborugh is situated in a great location because its not too far from the city but far enough that you dont get the drunks and knife fights of the inner city. However if you need to go into the city Eastlink & Monash freeway get you there in no time, i work in Richmond and it only takes me 1/2 hour to get in.

Very safe suburb, take walks with the little one all the time and never felt unsafe. As mentioned i work in the inner city and there are places i wouldnt take my kids around there, see drug deals in broad daylight.

Alot of shopping options, Parkmore is quite good for the day to day stuff but you also have Chadstone, Southland and Dandenong that are not very far, all within 15 mintues. Food spots in the area are not bad, mainly fast food but there are a few restuarants popping up.

Optical fibre in the new estates makes the internet a dream and recycle water is also a good addition for the garden, don't have to worry about water restrictions.

All in all a great place to raise a family.

Seen a few negative comments on this site, but they just seem to be from people who wish they could live in the suburb but cant afford it...

I totally agree I feel so safe here and have only lived her one week and already have lots of friends! Our 5 year old daughter knows all the neighborhood kids its incredible the sense of community! I love living here! Coming from living in a snobby neighborhood in bentleigh which was more about what car you drove and what your occupation was than what type of person you were. Here it's amazing the diversity you have people from all over the world. Half our area doesn't speak English very well but we all have the commonality of wanting the best for our kids and communicate just fine. I love living here!
