"Riding On The Coattails Of Nearby Suburbs"
Surrey Downs rides on the coattails of the surrounding suburbs of Golden Grove and Greenwith. Both of these suburbs are well mainted and a lovely place to live. I found buying a house and living in Surrey Downs quite an eye opener. The streets are poorly maintained. Lighting leaves alot to be desired. Medical, grocery and other services are either non existent or obsolute.
Be careful not to over pay for rental properties or any property just because it is surrounded by more prestigious suburbs. do your own research and you will find that all of the claims of beauty and nearby conveniences are actually in a different suburb.

The Initial comment is incorrect. Most streets have recently been resealed, and are well maintained, my wife and kids felt safe walking at night. There are 2 medium sized local shopping centres; a medical Centre; and 2 local Pubs; as well as shopping at 'Westfield' and 'The Village' within 5km.
A local oval and baseball club, parkland, Primary school, Kinky and childcare facilities are all in the centre of Surrey Downs, and the real-estate prices are much cheaper than neighbouring Golden Grove suburbs, yet Surrey Downs offers all of the same facilities.
Well, you didn't explain that you live here! So you and your stubborn comment is no help to no one. Your loss.

I can't believe this review! North-eastern and southern suburbs are the ones that beat the rest, I love both of them! To put negativity about the North-Eastern areas with no knowledge WHATSOEVER about the area, and same goes to the southern areas, shame on you!
Completely inaccurate review KateSummer. I have lived in Surrey Downs for over 10 years. Beautiful area, parks, playgrounds, childcare centres, schools. Awesome shopping centre that includes everything you would need, hairdressers, Medical Centre, Dental Centre, Pathology collection centre, Pharmacy. Multiple take way outlets including incredible pizza. Really friendly area, great people, feel safe walking in the middle of the night. The best area I have ever lived in. I would never live anywhere else
Found this extremely unhelpful. The person who wrote this review has something against Surrey Downs or has nothing better to do than post pointless and false information on the internet. Medical and supermarkets can be found in Surrey Downs and is planning expansion. This person rated resale value at 2! The resale value in Surrey Downs is good! If you intend buying a house in Surrey Downs, please don't pay attention to this review
