Henley Marine Drive

"Positives outweigh the Negatives... Just!"

Henley Marine Drive although a beautiful, well known street has a few negative points to consider before living here...
1. It is so well known there is always a steady flow of traffic in the form of vehicles and exercise enthusiasts, so if you're one who likes their privacy, this is probably not the place for you!
2. It can get quite noisy with the traffic on the roads and water at certain times, but not enough to wake you up.

Don't get me wrong, if I had a chance to live in this street, I'd probably snap up the opportunity, but the lack of privacy and noise issues concern me. I do feel there may be other streets in the Drummoyne area that can offer similar lifestyle and views for a more reasonable price tag, without these hassles.

However, if you're someone who loves to live the high life and want the prestige of a "name" street, then Henley Marine is probably for you - as Sydney siders most know this is an expensive street:)

Ingham Avenue

"Parks, Shops and Lifestyle"

Ingham Ave is one of the premier streets in Five Dock. Commencing at Lyons Rd and finishing at Henley Marine Dve, this is in the premier location in Five Dock.
Minutes walk to Five Dock shops, parks & The Bay Run - every desire is at your fingertips.
The best section of this street is between Fairlight St & Henley Marine Dve. If you're lucky to get a chance to buy or rent here, don't think too much or someone else will take the offer!

Budd Street

"Boutique quiet street very close to Water"

Budd St is very cute and the neighbours are extremely friendly!
I visited there last week to inspect a property and the neighbour across the road and next door both waved at me as I got out of the car... Very welcoming.
The street is set on a slope, so the houses on the upper side may catch some water glimpses. The houses on the lower side of the street are on large blocks and are very private, although don't get any views.
A lot of families and retirees are living in this area, as well as some young professionals - and they all mingle nicely to create a really friendly little community.

Polding St

"Quiet & Quaint:)"

A beautiful quiet street in Drummoyne, this is a place you move to and never leave.
In some ways it looks like a rear lane, but this is great, because it means there is hardly ever any traffic. One of the more narrow streets, on street parking could be difficult, so make sure you buy with parking where you can!

Gipps Street

"Diverse street with some great properties"

Gipps St extends from Lyons Rd both ways over the stretch of Drummoyne - one side connecting with Five Dock Bay & the other with Half Moon Bay.
Both sides of the street are only minutes walk to bus & ferry transport, Birkenhead Point Shopping Centre with Coles Supermarket, restaurants, cafes, gymnasium, sailing & rowing/ sport clubs, Drummoyne Olympic Swimming Pool & on the door step of "The Bay Run" offering over 8kms of walking & cycling trails along the waterfront.
Both sides of the street are great - I guess it just depends whether you want to be close to the Bay Run or closer to the numerous bays on the other side (Hen Bay, Chicken Bay, Abbotsford Bay & Five Dock Bay). For those who like the quieter lifestyle, I would suggest the latter. But for those who enjoy the action, head for the Half Moon Bay end.
Whatever your choice, you're no more than 500m from the others anyway!
A great family area or retirement place and a great investment!

Thompson Street

"Great street - quiet, leafy & loads of character"

South Street starts at Lyons Rd and runs directly down to Henley Marine Dve and the Bay Run.
Due to its elevated position, many properties take in great water views, but if not, it's only a short stroll to the waterfront, where views are endless.
People who live in the area will attest the the beauty of Brett Park and even more the benefits of living right on Half Moon Bay. You won't need a Gym membership living here - but if you do, G Fitness is just around the corner.
Close to some great schools, shops on Lyons Rd & Victoria Rd, and easy access to the City to work. If you're moving to the area, it would be wise to plan at least 30-40 mins to get to the city in Peak Hour traffic, but if you leave before 7.15am or after 9am, it's a quick run (taking only 10-15mins). Traffic subsides on the weekend and it's easy to drive anywhere, but I would recommend taking in the water benefits and using the ferry to get around.
