Ogrady Street

"Everyone gets along. Great place to live. Not noisy. Nothing negative at all."

I bought and moved in here in 1986 and would not want to move anywhere else. I have always found neighbours extremely friendly. There have been a few neighbour changes over this time and there are still 13 houses around my house that all lookout for eachother (this includes owners and renters). We mind eachothers dogs. We have at least 2 progressive lunch/dinners a year. Catch up at the local pub for dinner occassionally. Queens Parade shopping has everything you need but even closer is a little family supermarket which has operated since way before I moved in who have all the groceries you could need and only a 3 minute walk away. Also 3 minutes walk away is The Royal Hotel, a fish & chip shop, hairdresser, newsagent, cafe and a groovy ladies clothing shop. No noisy dogs, not many children but the one's that are here are great and range from pretty brand new to around 15 years old. The local primary school is only a 5 minute walk away and the train station even closer from which all trains stop as it is a major station - 5 minutes ride into the city. The Merry Creek runs through the park which is just at the end of the street. The park runs for miles so you can take a short walk or a long one to the Collingwood Childrens Farm, Studley Park Boat House, Fairfield Boat House for lunch or even into the city for a really long but beautifully nature inspired adventure.

G'day Kathy, I used to live up in Alphington... looking at the map here your street looks pretty close to Heidelberg Rd. Do you hear the traffic much or is that around where Heidelberg Rd ramps up to the bridge? Got any photos of the park or Merri Creek?

Kathy

Hi Soutarm, yes I am close to Heidelberg Road but do not hear the traffic. I have had people from the country come and stay and have commented on how surprisingly quiet it is. I will look into getting some photo's of the park for you.
