"Beerwah: cute, quiet town but on the rise..."
A nice little town with basic amenities. Is on the train line to Brisbane / Nambour, and you can get a bus out to Caloundra, etc. Nice small town feel with generally friendly people. Some very nice shops (Bob the Butcher, Beerwah Books & Bits, Boutique Noir Hair, Pasta D'Vine Cafe - all friendly and helpful every time I've been in these shops, great service). Lots of parking - I've never had trouble getting a carpark at any time of day. A lot of the shops are closed on Sunday, or close early, which is a bit inconvenient (but I come from a city where things are open 24/7, which you do get used to). Some feral kids hanging around the train station sometimes but you get that anywhere. Not a lot of great dining options, e.g. no Thai, Indian, etc, just pizza, fish 'n' chips, Subway - Pasta D'Vine do awesome iced coffee, cheesecake, gourmet pizza. There's a public library with WiFi which is a plus. Generally, good value houses but not many with character. There is an Aldi supermarket being built at the moment, and I hear a Target is coming, too, which will be great for jobs and save some trips out of town. Overall, a sweet little town which is definately growing.
Great for
- Library with WiFi
- Close to beautiful Maleny & Montville region
- Friendly locals
- A pub
- Some friendly out of towners
- Train out
Not great for
- Few great dining options
- Some bogans / bevans
- Almost everything closed on Sunday
Who lives here?
- Families with kids
Edit: Dining Options now greatly increased; Chinese, Italian, Indian and the usual suspects, Fish & Chips, Subway, Eagle Boys and Dominoes. Greatest little 'village' I have ever lived in!
