Beacon Hill

"Lovely suburb of the northern beaches"

Moved here after living abroad for almost 10 years, we have considered many areas including the inner west, northshore and south east before buying our house here. Beacon Hill is leafy with many nature reserves and parks around and close to many of the beaches, only 10 - 15 min drive to Dee Why, Curl Curl or Manly, parking is never an issue. The property price in this area is still reasonable comparing to most Sydney suburbs. Warringah Mall (Westfield) is just around the corner and is currently under expansion. The new Northern Beaches hospital due to complete in a couple of years will also be just 5 minutes away. There are many choices of restaurants and bars around Manly, Dee Why and Chatswood for eating out. We love living here, it is always so pleasant to come home after a busy day of work. Weekends are heavenly. It feels very safe, neighbours are all friendly and down to earth, a very family oriented area.

Cannot give it 5 stars unfortunately due to the poor transport links, a common issue with all northern beaches suburbs. Buses to the city in the morning (peak hour) usually takes 50 minutes to an hour, or 1.5hr if there is traffic jam! You have to leave home early to avoid traffic issues. On the way home in the evening is much more consistent, around 45 minutes.
