Nothing compares to Ashgrove when it comes to a friendly leafy suburb close to the city. It has everything particularly if you are raising a Family. The area has all the facilities you could ask for and is safe for kids. Most who buy here never leave, so Real Estate prices are solid and that means great investment. Forget "Green Acres" or the river, Ashgrove is the Place to be! I will stay forever. So many parks, relaxing bike paths and leafy walking tracks, pretty winding creeks and beautiful Mountain backdrops, it is very hard to beat. Gets my vote for the best Suburb in Brisbane.
