"Some doggy neighbourhood in certain streets"
The area is not as safe as what people would perceive. There have been a few incidents to residents such as armed robberies or violent assaults. Some streets may have doggy neighbourhood that you may want to avoid especially after sun set. My friend who lived in the area for over 20 years told me that the area was not as good as it used to be.
I'll avoid the part of Ryedale Rd and Forster St that is near the Ryde Eastwood League Club, and streets around the Anzac Park at night can be doggy sometimes. You may also need to be a bit more careful when walking along Parkes St at night as well.
