Mary Ring Drive

"Convenient, nice neighbourhood that you will be sad to leave."

Less than 2 minutes walk to shops - IGA Supermarket, Doctors, Dentists, Vets, Hardware, Takeout, Video Store, Bakery, Butcher, Sushi, Ice Creamery, Newsagent, Hairdresser. It is about 3.5 minutes walk to Samford Primary School. It is about 4 - 5 minutes walk to the Gym, Tennis courts, Samford Tavern or Post office. I can't fault the location. Houses are rented in the street for at least $500 a week. It is a quiet street that is lived in by families, newlyweds and retirees alike. It is the kind of street that you see kids on scooters or playing cricket in the cul-de-sac in the afternoons after school. There is two flat walk ride parks that take you from Mary Ring Drive to other parks of the village. It truely is a village lifestyle that is only 25mins drive from the city centre. Ferny Grove Train station is 10 mins drive away (including parking time) and there is a bus that picks you up from the corner of Mary Ring Drive and Mt Glorious Rd and takes you in to Ferny Grove Rail twice in the morning peak times and twice at night. Pay TV is satelite not cable but we had no problem with it. They government are building a sports complex approximately 10-15 minutes walk away which can easily be reached by the walk/bike tracks dotted over the village. Soon there will be more tennis courts, netball courts, soccer/football field to go alongside the archery grounds. There are three churches all in walking distance of Mary Ring Drive. Other than the pub which does a great feed, there isn't really much or a nightlife - no clubs or whatnot in walking distance. If that is what you are into - Samford Village has its own taxi/shuttle/minibus service that can pick you up or drop you off anywhere closer to the city for a night out. I guess the lack of those facilities can also be a positive for those who don't want to live next to them. I can't really say more - it's a nice neighbourhood in a really handy location.
