Gwydir Street

"Central location - great for young families"

Lived in this street for about 15 years. Generally a fairly quiet, peaceful street, our neighbours are terrific - very friendly but not in-your-face friendly:)

The middle section of the street tends to be constantly congested with parked cars both sides. Garbage truck turns up fairly early on a Tuesday morning which can sometimes wake you.

Most residents in the street take a lot of pride in the appearance of their house & garden, although a few people in the area prefer a garden without trees & bushes, giving some areas quite an empty look to them:(

Fairly active area - always seeing people out and about walking themselves, dogs, bike-riding etc. Quite a few parks around - some a bit tatty though - could do with some TLC and more trees.

Many organised sports are available in the area such as softball, netball, soccer, cricket etc. There's a well maintained golf course, a bike track, two local shopping centres, pub, and several medical centres. Only a minutes walk to nearest bus stop, 5 mins in car to nearest station, 10 min drive to gym, Westmead Hospital and major shopping centres, close to M2 and other main roads (noise can be heard from the M2 some days). It's also close to places like Homebush Olympic site or Eastern Creek Raceway

Council clean-ups occur on a regular basis. There are many schools in the area, both public and private.

Quite a few species of native birds are seen regularly in the area including rainbow lorikeets, galahs, sulphur crested cockatoos, rosellas.

Greystanes is a convenient place to live because it is so central to so many amenities and so easy to get to other areas - anywhere from the city to the Blue Mountains. A great area for younger couples with kids.
