Hammond Avenue

"Average, boring suburban street"

Grew up in this street but now as an adult, cant stay i'd ever buy a house here. Main issue I have is that you kind of feel you are in the middle of suburban nowhere (when that is not at all true). Lots of options for public transport, just not hassle-free ones. Best bet is the quick drive & park to Croydon station (or 2km/30min walk), but the peak hour train is not as frequent compared to Ashfield. Could catch the train from there (Ashfield) but good luck getting a regular parking spot. Parramatta Rd buses are nightmarish - it's a loooong peak hour bus hike to the CBD. Besides that, it's a normal, boring street. Plenty of schools in walking distance (3 highschools & 2 primary) and many others within bus reach. The heavily congested Ashfield and Burwood malls have tons of options for food & retail. Five Dock shops also within easy driving/ walking distance.

Bechert Road

"Nice, quiet & CBD transport"

Although it's like living in a smurf village with one after another apartment complexes, the area is still pleasant and quiet. If you want nightlife, you are close enough to the city. If you want restaurants, facilities and shops, there is Five Dock down the road. Lots of parks and great walks along the water. Most convenient thing is ferry down the road and city bus right on the door step. Granted it's only one bus line, so doesn't run too frequently on weekends or evenings but peak hour services are pretty good. Also lots of parking in surrounding streets if you dont get a garage/ car space in your smurf village.
