Zillmere

"Great place to live + Excellent value for money"

We have been living in Zillmere since purchasing in 2010 because of the exceptional value it offered compared with neighboring suburbs. Specifically, we are near the Taigum Centro shops which is generally a quiet pocket with larger blocks of land. Most of the neighbors' are friendly and are either elderly long term residents or young families new to the area.

We were initially concerned about the area being known as a housing commission area and the connotations that comes with it but we have been pleasantly surprised as this is fast changing as many of the poor quality homes have either been renovated or redeveloped for townhouses. In time its old reputation will continue to fade just as those of Geebung, Virginia and Wavell Heights have.

Despite other peoples experiences noted in previous comments on crime & safety in the area, we haven’t experienced or seen this. Every suburb has its share of shady characters and Zillmere is the same as any other - including the type of people you find near a train station on Friday nights. Inevitably crime happens in every suburb and from what I have seen is no worse than Woolloongabba or Carindale where I lived previously.

We enjoy living in Zillmere for all the conveniences nearby including transport links to the Gateway Motorway/Airport and train to the city. We are very happy here and would recommend it to friends.
