Berwick

"Big and beautiful"

Abundance of park land, shops, and amenities. North side is the older side and still retains a lot of its charm. South side is all estates but well laid out. Only downside is the hoons and Clyde Rd.

Pakenham

"Way too far"

Pakenham is good value for money in terms of property but there are far more cons than pros. The congestion you have to deal with on top of the already long distance is a nightmare. There is no better route to pick from. The Monash is horrendous and the princes highway is no better. I work in the city and sometime spend 3 hours in peak to get home. There are certainly an abundance of shops. I think about 8 supermarkets between Coles, Woolies and Aldi. The only thing it’s missing is a cinema but there are plenty of options close by. Some of the people are a little strange but I don’t think the crime is anything to be concerned about too much, it’s got nothing on places like Sunshine, Springvale, Dandenong or Broadmeadows. The main thing that lets Pakenham down is its distance from the CBD.

Isn't using a train is an option to avoid 3 hours of driving (after using car from home to station)?

"Another forced community"

Another bland community that’s too far away from anything. It might be perfect for people that don’t have many options and the houses are pretty good value but it certainly wasn't what I was looking for.

"Will be better in 20 years"

Road network is rubbish but to be somewhat expected. Can be prone to grass fires in Summer. Has potential but still a fair distance distance from the CBD, not much really to do there. Plenty of good parks for kids, and a great dog park.

you must live near the park and sleep in on weekends. Dogs only park when see others. Traffic is good in Epping. Have you tried Box Hill, Camberwell and so on. They are trapped.

hahaha...so funny John. Maybe he's renting near the park...
