Hammond Street

"Most Friendly Street in Melb!"

We cannot say enough about how much we love the area. We moved in 3 years ago from Prahan, rented for a while and soon after bought the house we were renting. We know every neighbour for 2 houses in each direction from ours and that's on both sides of the street. When I'm at work I never worry because I know the neighbours will keep an eye on things for me.

It's a great place for kids with no rough element to speak of. Parks nearby and school around the corner near Julia's house.

The main street has progressed significantly in the past 2 years. More cafes, restraunts and a great alfresco vibe by the beach.... Very similar to Williamstown. Great place for breaky (Beach Hut), a coffee and cake (Melissa's) or a Sunday lunch (Mosaic).

Great for

  • Friendly neighbours
  • 1.5km from the beach
  • Almost no crime

Not great for

  • Further from the beach and shops than say Blythe St

Who lives here?
