"Beautiful Shoalwater Bay"

This street had issues down our end related to the parking for the primary school. People would park across our driveway and were rude. We never got to know our neighbours very well after living there for 10 years - they were not very friendly - quite the opposite - there was conflict brewing a lot between the ones we knew. The up side was the close access to the very beautiful Shoalwater and Safety Bays and Penguin Island. We walked around this area daily as the street is in a great proximity for access to this vista. Great water sports, fishing, snorkelling, boating, swimming. public transport was limited and isolating but this could have improved now with new systems to access the new train line to Perth.

Great for

  • Access to Shoalwater and Safety Bay and Penguin Island

Not great for

  • Not very friendly

Temira Crescent

"Tropical paradise"

This street is full of architecturally interesting homes with a history of being "the street" where the most influential people of Darwin once chose to live in. It is a very friendly street where families are invited to participate in Christmas Carols and celebrations each year at one of the homes. The street eminates a constant sense of improvement, and stylish renovations are always taking place. The street is adjacent to the marina and expensive newer housing constructs, and this location has extremely easy access to all of the major restaurants, nightclubs, and major shopping precinct of Darwin city, yet is residential with large blocks and remains very peaceful and quiet. For Darwin, a place that is always hot and humid, with its tropical gardens and appealing street-scape adjacent to the water, this a truly wonderful street to live in.

Great for

  • Street-scape of appealing homes and gardens
  • Quiet
  • Safe

Southern Cross Dr

"Safe street in quiet neighbourhood"

This street has very private and professional neighbours who are friendly and polite. Southern Cross Drive is walking or cycling distance to a variety of schools and adjacent to the beautiful Moreton Bay Marine Park looking across Deception Bay. Ideal boating, fishing, sailing environment. Most homes here are situated on a high-mast canal. Moreton Bay Yacht Club is very nearby, plus major boating facilities, slipyards, marine equipment shops etc. In the area is also one of the most renowned fresh seafood sales outlets in Brisbane and restaurants. Walkways and cycleways are plentiful plus 5 minute drive access to nearest shopping complex, and 20 minute access to brand new major Westfield complex. A peaceful and safe area for families, or retirement living, with access to many major amenities and recreational activities. The downside - not a lot of nightlife on the Redcliffe Peninsula for young adults.

Great for

  • Safe
  • Beautiful location adjacent to Moreton Bay Marine Park
  • Access to recreational activities including water sports

"Great street to live in!"

Friendly neighbours, nice quiet street and 5 minutes to the city. So many great places to walk to, beautiful council maintained parks and gardens alongside the Swan River with a city aspect. Plus many children's playgrounds. You can walk or cycle to South Perth or to East Perth take your pick, or even to Heirisson Island to see the kangaroos. My husband walked home from work in the city each day. Walk to the Burswood Casino, or to the cafe strip along Albany HIghway in Victoria Park for great restaurants. Great food & shopping centres nearby. Plus walking distance to the train, or buses galore. The only set back is cars are parked in the street at drop off and pick up time during school terms, but this is very well controlled by the school and the Council and has minimal impact. It is an exclusive Montessori School with parents paying high end private fees for their children, so it attracts only professionals. This location has it all, we loved living in this street and wouldn't hesitate to move back there when we come back to WA.

Great for

  • Location
  • Parks, Playgrounds, Cycleways
  • Commuting to city

Not great for

  • Cars parked in street at school drop off an pick up time
