Morningside

"Location Location"

We have lived in Morningside for the past two years now and it has surpassed our expectations. Considering it is only 5km from the CBD and is serviced by trains and buses and is closeby to cafes (including Bulimba/Oxford St etc - we live near the Hawthorne border of Morningside) it holds much better value for money than neighbouring Hawthorne/Bulimba (although these suburbs are extremely nice in their own right - but much much more expensive!). I can't think of many other suburbs I have seen in Brisbane real estate than have the same value for money whilst being 5km from the CBD and serviced by trains & buses (as we are close to the train station/flight path we were somewhat concerned during the buying process but we don't really hear it that much as we are used to the background sounds). The issue of noise is only noticeable during the day as I have never been woken/heard planes late at night/early morning. I would also add that if noise is a major issue for people then any area within 5km from the city might not be in their best interests (unless you can afford the likes of Teneriffe, New Farm etc). Medium density is certainly taking over the suburb with continuous new townhouses/units under construction which is a good sign that the area is in demand.

Great for

  • 5km to CBD
  • Less than 1km in parts, to Oxford St Bulimba
  • Public Transport
  • Friendly neighbourhood
  • Green space and walking tracks

Who lives here?

  • Professionals
  • Singles
  • Families with kids
