Bay Rd

"Easy Living"

Nothing to complain about here - everything is close and affordable (once you've shelled out a fortune to move into this suburb). Southland is close, trains & buses are close, good schools nearby. All of the nightclubs in the area have been closed down so teens walking home at night after they've had a few is no longer a problem. Highly recommend.

Jennings Court

"Kids will love it / Parents will hate it"

I've lived here for 3 years and I'm glad to be leaving. Due to the high amount of unmaintained parkland around the court, this was one of the areas of Narre Warren that burned in 2008's bushfires. Most of the males in the court have motorbikes so you don’t get to sleep in (unless you are a really heavy sleeper – a few of them are Harleys). You are totally dependent on a vehicle as there are no buses within walking distance from the court, and the nearest train station is a $20 taxi fare away. You cannot get further away from the telephone exchange so ADSL is as slow as dial-up. You can't get cable in the area so Pay TV is limited to Satellite. Mobile reception is a joke unless you’re on Telstra – we’ve tested Optus, Vodafone, 3, & Orange in our time in order to avoid Telstra. We’ve never been burgled nor had an issue that required the police in that 3 years – but we did see the Helicopter hovering over the suburb when that idiot with the yellow sunglasses had his 500-strong guest party 4 blocks away. Less than 50% of the court is owner occupied, so the court does tend to look shabby after a few good rains. Traffic is non-existent, so all of the kids in the street play together after school - so you have to drive back in slowly when you're racing home. I’d recommend that while living in Narre Warren South is not an issue, you live closer to a main road so you’re not as isolated.
