Montgomery Court

"Best street in Norwood"

We have moved here in 2015 and love the street. All the neighbours are quiet and friendly. It is a small culdesac so no thru traffic. Amazing North Easterly aspect with morning sun and views of the mountains. Close to some great shops, schools, food, medical care, parks etc and walking distance to most of these. We love it so much that we would like to purchase more houses on the street.

Great for

  • Quiet
  • Good community spirit

Launceston

"Great place to live and visit"

Launceston has been my home for 21 years and the more I travel and see other places, the more I am thankful for having such a wonderful place to live in. There are plenty of jobs around - although not many of the high paying corporate jobs you find in the Capital Cities. Schools are great with a good selection of public and private. Like everywhere, there are some suburbs that are better than others, however living in the better ones isn't that expensive. If you don't mind a 15 minute drive to work, there are plenty of places where you can own a few acres of land close by.

Excellent services, shopping, amenities, natural beauty to explore and events going on in the region. Easy access to other parts of Tasmania and a short flight to the Mainland. It really is one of the best family friendly and enjoyable cities in the world.

From an investment perspective in realestate - it is great. property prices are relatively low and rental return is quite high.

Great for

  • Great sense of community
  • Amazing food and wine experiences
  • Affordable real estate
  • Central to all Tassie has on offer
  • Affordability
  • Inexpensive Living Costs
  • Low Crime

Not great for

  • Can be cold in the peak of winter - you need to make sure you have adequate heating

Thankyou. My wife and I are considering a move from Queensland and flying down next week to get a feel for both Hobart and Launceston. I appreciate the review. Cheers, Brenden

My wife and I were in tassie last september for her birthday, loved it. considering relocating but need to have work. Wife is a legal secretary, and I am a truck driver. Anyone who has or knows of available jobs would be nice to hear from you. Wife prefers Launie, for its quietness and old town charm. I don't mind it. Looking for average to build on.

Launceston I small enough to give a community spirit and old fashioned good manners, modern enough to offer good restaurants, shops and library. Jobs in agriculture healthcare. If you want the big city with many jobs go to Hobart.

If you want small with a cupple of main streets and quiet its the city for you
No views of anything tho

Nothing quiet and quaint about Launceston now, an over supply of mainlanders has made sure of that. Please stop relocating to Tasmania.
