Wyndham Vale

"Best suburb in outer west!"

-Close to public transport. And it takes 35 min to Southern cross by train.
-Lots of new estates. Mostly young couples/families.
-Quiet and scenic. Those sunsets are gorgeous.
-Beautiful parks everywhere. That lake in manor lakes estate is absolutely amazing.
-Love the new shopping centre extension. KMART rite in our backyard.

Only complaint is we need more restaurants in the area. Not much choice at the moment.

Sunshine not cheap now you can't find good house for under $ 600000

That's right Tom, house prices are very high in Sunshine, recently breaking the $1m mark and there's a reason for that...Sunshine is a great place to live. Puneet needs to do his homework before spouting off untruths like high crime rate. Sunshine certainly does not have the highest crime rate in Melbourne, the highest in 2015 were Prahran, Richmond, Collingwood, Altona and Frankston. So don't listen to people's perceptions and prejudices but look up more recent VicPol stats and get your facts right. Perception is not reality. BTW the CBD of Sunshine is fantastic for a suburb on the inner city fringe, that's why it's Vietnamese restaurants are part of Melbourne's Food Festival. One of it's restaurants was voted runner-up to the best Pho in Australia in 2013 by Feast Magazine and only two or so weeks ago Ka Pies in the CBD won the best pie in Australia from 1700 entries. Sunshine also has the most significant industrial and labour history in Australia, the full name of the Award Wage is the Sunshine Harvester Award which came about from events that happened at the Sunshine Harvester Works, the biggest company in Australia before BHP came to Australia. The Sunshine Harvester and Header Harvester machines invented in Sunshine revolutionised wheat harvesting in Australia and around the world. George Kirby lived and ran the Sunshine Cinema with his son Roc Kirby. Roc, by the way, started Village Roadshow. That's why Sunshine has the biggest Village Megaplex in the Southern hemisphere because he wanted to give something back to the suburb. Also John Flynn who started Flying Doctor Service was headmaster at Sunshine Primary School and I could go on. So to all the Sunshiner's out there if someone rudely bags the suburb you live in to your face if it's on whether they like the place or not that their opinion but if they claim it has a high crime rate compared to other suburbs ask them where they get their facts from and ask to see the figures or better yet just...ignore them.

To anyone reading above BS just go visit and experience it for yourself. Train station after 6pm turns into a prison camp(scary as hell). Theres more to it that I cant type here but the whole neighborhood just feels weird. Further, ask any shopowner in Sunshine shopping centre how disgusting it gets during weekends. Sunshine is just not rite place to raise a family. Thats just my experience.

Sunshine station is a disgrace. The best advice to any restaurants along the Hampshire road strip leading to Sunshine railway station is to move to the new shopping centre next to Braybrook secondary college, where the old Masters Hardware was. A lot of people who shopped along Hampshire road now go there, no drunks, junkies and a much safer place to bring kids. Private security is able to get rid of those begging so they can use the money for drug buying. Not the best business decision to have a family restaurant on Hampshire road Sunshine, it just looks like place to get mugged, harassed for money, vision is destroyed by the sight of deranged junkies, a great deterrence to do business. Doubt very much the airport link will help the place. Usually the price of a house directly across from a railway station 10 kilometres from the city would be 2-3 million dollars not 850k like the ones just sold, actually the further you get away from Sunshine railway station and bus terminal the house prices get higher. Now that's a strong statement. The good thing is the butcher shops and Asian supermarkets are cheap and good quality, but you have to be quick to get your groceries so your car does not get broken into. Shocking place, absolute disgrace, a junkie criminal ghetto hangout, filthy as.
