The parts of Brighton closer to Sandgate Village I prefer. I lived about 2km from Sandgate central and found I always had to use the car. There are some shops and decent schools. Never spoke much with the neighbours.

Where I live in Deagon is just 5 minutes walk to Sandgate Village, train and waterfront. Plenty of schools and parks in the area, neighbours are approachable, respectful and decent. Easy access to both coasts (Sunshine & Goldie) and only 20 minutes to the airport and 30 minutes to CBD by train. Doesn't get much better in a capital city.
