"buy for the future"

We bought our land in the marriott waters estate 2 years ago and we are in our house 8 months now and really love it, we were able to get a nice sized block of land (740sqm) and build our first, last and only home! We decided on the side of the estate closest to the train station to be within walking distance of the station for work and in the future for Schools for the kids. I admit the walk to the station is dangerous at the minute but once the retail/commercial development is finished in the area between the estate and station there will be a safer and quicker path over. That along with the shopping area that will be similar to Lynbrooks and the residents only club will make this area even better to live in.

At the moment we are able to enjoy the lakes and have nice walks with the the kids. The area feels safe and a lot of careful planning has gone into the area to make sure it has everything the residents need. Being close to all major roads and the coast is fantastic. Not saying anything negative about Cranbourne but the negative comments and rating from some of the residents isnt helpful. There is also a predicted increase in commercial activity in the close by dandenong south area creating local jobs.

I do feel it will be around 2 years from now before we see the true value of the area when the facilities are in place and everything feels more settled, even longer for the commercial side of things. I know we wouldnt be able to afford our house now never mind in 2 years. Its good now and will be great tomorrow, we feel confident that we have chosen somewhere that will provide all our family needs now and into the future. Dont leave it to late to buy, prices are on the increase all the time.

Thanks for posting your comment - we are thinking of buying in the last release and you have answered a lot of our questions. Just out of interest, how long does it take to walk to the station ? We keep hearing negative comments about the South but strangely only ever by people from the North and vice versa but this Estate has a lovely feel.
I have had concerns over the "toxic" dump nearby - is this an issue?
Thanks
